NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Swindon Borough Council proposes to make a Temporary Order for the temporary closure of Gordon Road and Beckhampton Street (at its junction with Princes Street), the temporary closure for the footway in Princes Street and the temporary suspension of the bus lane on Princes Street.

This Order is required to enable carriage construction and resurfacing works associated with the redevelopment of Whale Bridge.

Alternative routes are available; Princes Street footway – pedestrians will be directed to Islington Street. Beckhampton Street – alternative route via Princes Street, Euclid Street and York Road.

Gordon Road – via Islington Street or Princes Street.

The Order will come into force on Monday 12th September 2011 and will remain in operation for 18 months although it is anticipated that works will be completed within the timescales shown below.

The work will be a phased programme with the Beckhampton Street and Princes Street works starting on September 12th with an anticipated end date of 30th November 2011

The Gordon Road works are scheduled to being on October 15th and be completed by 7th December 2011.
