Swindon Borough Council is consulting on the introduction of a Local Development Order for rear house extension proposals in Swindon Borough.

This Local Development Order would grant planning permission for the type of house extension specified in the Order (subject to Conditions), and by so doing, would remove the need for a planning application to be made.

Copies of the draft Local Development Order and its accompanying Statement of Reasons are now available for public inspection and comment at Swindon Borough Council Customer Services, Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon (Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.).

Representations should be sent in writing to Freepost SCE5251, Swindon Borough Council, Planning & Transport, Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon, SN1 2JG to arrive no later than 4.30pm on Friday 28 October 2011.

Following completion of the public consultation period, the representations received on the Draft Local Development Order would be reported to Planning Committee along with Officers’ proposed amendments to the Order arising from these representations. If approved by Committee, the Council would be required to refer the final Local Development Order to the Secretary of State to confirm its adoption.
