SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL
Audit Commission Act 1998

In accordance with Section 13 of the Audit Commission Act 1998, notice is hereby given that the audit of the accounts and other financial documents of Swindon Borough Council for the year ended 31st March, 2011 has concluded.

The Council’s Auditors, The Audit Commission, have issued an unqualified opinion of the accounts. The accounts and related reports are available via the Council’s website: www.swindon.gov.uk or by contacting the Council at the address below.

The Local Authorities (Members Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003 Publication of Scheme of Councillors’ Allowances for 2011/12

The Council has published a Scheme of Councillors’ Allowances for 2011/12.

The Council agreed on 13th January 2011, after considering the recommendations of its Independent Remuneration Panel, that there would be no increase in the levels of Basic and Special Responsibility Allowances payable to Councillors in 2011/12. Allowances would remain as for the 2009/10 and 2010/11 Municipal Years. Councillors’ Basic Allowances remains at: £7,710.

The Council agreed on 22nd September 2011, after considering the recommendations of its Independent Remuneration Panel, that the mileage rate in the Councillors’ Allowance Scheme be increased forthwith from 40p to 45p per mile in order that it continued to reflect the HM Revenue and Customs Tax Threshold limit which had increased by that amount in April 2011.
