Waiting and Loading Restrictions and Parking Places consolidation Order 2011))

Experiemental Order (No. 1) 2011

Notice is hereby given that on the 19th October 2011 Swindon Borough Council made an Experimental Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to be operative from the 1st November 2011 for the duration of 18 months.

The effect of the Order is to impose the following restrictions along the streets within Zones D and E accordingly:

Residents Permit Holders Only – Monday to Saturday 8am to 10pm
No Waiting – Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6pm
No Waiting – Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm
Limited Waiting 2 hours – Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm – No Return within 1 hour

Cross Street
Dixon Street
Dover Street
Eastcott Hill
Eastcott Road
Edmund Street
Folkestone Road
Hythe Road
Globe Street
Maidstone Road
King William Street
King John Street
Kent Road
Lansdown Road
North Street
Pembroke Street
Prospect Hill
Prospect Place
Ragett Street
Rolleston Street
Savernake Street
South Street
Stafford Street
Stanley Street
Swindon Road
Union Street
Warwick Road
Wesley Street
Western Street

A copy of the Order and plan showing the extent of each restriction on each of the above streets may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Euclid Street, Swindon during normal office hours or online on www.swindon.gov.uk/highwayregulation.

The Experimental Order has been made to allow for an assessment of the changes before a decision is taken to make it permanent.

Any person wishing to make representations whether to object or support the Order before it is made permanent must do so in writing quoting the reference (TRO/Experimental/Zones D+E) specifying the grounds on which they are made within 6 months of this experimental Order coming into force or if the Order is subsequently varied or modified within 6 months of the variation or modification coming into force.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 19 October 2011 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
