SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, SWINDON)

(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2011

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Swindon Borough Council intend to make an Order under Section 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Act for the temporary closure of the roads listed below to allow for carriageway resurfacing and winter damage works.

Road Closed: York Road outside No’s 14 to 77
Date of Closure: 19 and 20 December 2011
Alternative Route: Via Groundwell Rd, Drove Rd, Magic Roundabout, Fleming Way and Newcastle Street

Road Closed: Chestnut Avenue
Date of Closure: 23 and 27 January 2012
Alternative Route: Via Pinehurst Rd, Whitworth Rd, Cricklade Rd and vice versa

Road Closed: Church Road, Liddington
Date of Closure: 16 and 20 January 2012
Alternative Route: Not applicable

Road Closed: Bell Lane, Lidddington
Date of Closure: 6 and 10 February 2012
Alternative Route: Via Purley Rd, Commonhead Roundabout, Pack Hill, Church Rd and Ham Rd. Bus services will be maintained

The Order will come into force on the 19 December 2011 for 6 months. It is anticipated works will take place on the above dates however, resurfacing works are weather permitting and any changes in dates will be notified on site.
