Wiltshire and Swindon Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations

Statement of Representations Procedure and Notice of Publication of the Wiltshire and Swindon Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004

Notice of Publication of the Wiltshire and Swindon Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations Development Plan Document (Pre-submission) Notice is given in accordance with the above Regulations that Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council (“the Councils”) have published the Wiltshire and Swindon Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD and following a 6-week period during which representations can be made, propose to submit it to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

The Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD builds upon the Councils adopted Minerals policy framework by presenting a series of proposed sites for the winning and working of aggregate minerals (sand and gravel) across Wiltshire and Swindon through the period up to 2026. When adopted, the Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD will form part of the joint Wiltshire and Swindon Minerals and Waste Development Framework.

The proposed submission documents include: the Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD, the Sustainability Appraisal Report, the Habitat Regulations Assessment, the Statement of Consultation and a number of other evidence base documents used to prepare the Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD. The proposed submission documents can be viewed and, where directed commented upon at http://consult.wiltshire.gov.uk/portal

The period for submitting representations relating to the soundness of the Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD begins on Monday 30th January 2012 and lasts for 6-weeks, closing at 5pm on Monday 12th March 2012. Representations received beyond this date may not be considered. If you wish to make representations relating to the soundness of the Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD you should use the standard representation form, which is available online at http://consult.wiltshire.gov.uk/portal and at the following locations: Trowbridge (Bradley Road and County Hall), Swindon (Wat Tyler House), Devizes (Browfort), Salisbury (27 – 29 Milford Street), Chippenham (Monkton Park) and all libraries across Wiltshire and Swindon.

A guidance note is available to assist you in completing the form. A separate form should be completed for each representation you wish to make. Any representation may be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of any of the following: that the Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD has been submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination; that the Inspector’s Report (including any recommendations) into the Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD has been published; and that the Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD has been adopted.
