Swindon Borough Council - Road Traffic Regulation Orders

(Commonhead Junction, Swindon) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2012 and Swindon Borough Council (Highworth Road A4259) (50 mph Speed Limit) Order 2012

NOTICE IS GIVEN that Swindon Borough Council proposes to make the above Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be for a 40 mph speed limit as follow:

Commonhead Roundabout the whole length of the circulatory carriageway

Marlborough Road A4259 For a distance of approx. 80 metres from the exit/entry junction with the Commonhead Roundabout in both directions

Pack Hill C149 For a distance of approx. 80 metres to/from the junction with the Commonhead Roundabout .

Purley Road B4192 For a distance of approx. 75 metres to/from the junction with the Commonhead Roundabout.

The Swindon Borough Council (A4259 Marlborough Road, Swindon) (50 mph Speed Limit) Order 2007 is to be revoked and the 50 mph speed limit is to be as follow:

A4259 Marlborough Road 50 mph speed limit from the length of Marlborough Road from a point 185 metres east of its junction with Queens Drive to a point of approx 80 metres from its junction with the Commonhead Roundabout in both directions.

The Orders are being proposed as part of the Highway Agency Improvements to the Commonhead junction.

A copy of the relevant documents for the Orders may be inspected at Customer Services, Wat Tyler House, Euclid Street, Swindon during normal office hours from 3 to 23 February 2012.

Objections to the proposed Orders stating and the grounds of the objection should be made in writing to reach the undersigned, quoting the reference of the Orders (za/commonhead roundabout) by no later than 23 February 2012.
