Notice of Confirmation of an Order

Highways Act 1980 Swindon Borough Council Bridleway 36 Swindon Order 2012

On 22nd February 2012 Swindon Borough Council confirmed the above order made under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to extinguish Bridleway 36 in the unparished area of Swindon, commencing at OS grid reference SU41384 18560 at Rodbourne Road, approximately 35 metres northeast of Bruce Street railway bridge, and leading northwest for approximately 365 metres to OS grid reference SU41354 18580 at the rear perimeter fence of Cheney Manor Industrial Estate.

A copy of the order as confirmed and the order maps may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Beckhampton Street, Swindon, between 8.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday. Copies of the order and maps, costing £15.00, may be purchased there.

The order comes into force on 9th April 2012, but if a person aggrieved by the order wishes to question its validity, or that of any provision contained within it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, that person may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 42 days of the date of this notice make an application to the High Court.
