Publication of Key Decisions - The Forward Plan, Swindon Borough Council

Notice is hereby given under Regulation 12 of The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2000 (‘the Regulations’) of the following arrangements to publicise ‘Key Decisions’ to be taken by Swindon Borough Council’s executive (‘the Cabinet’) during the period 1st June 2012 to 30 April 2013.

A Key Decision means an executive decision which, is likely –

(a) to result in the Local Authority incurring expenditure which is, or the making of savings which are, significant having regard to the budget for the service or function to which the decision relates;

(b) to have a significant impact on two or more wards within the Local Authority.

A ‘Forward Plan’ containing information on which ‘Key Decisions’ are to be taken will be prepared on a monthly basis. The Plan will contain the following details:

  • the Key Decisions to be made for the four month period following its publication
  • a list of the documents submitted to decision takers for consideration in relation to the Key Decisions
  • how other documents may be submitted to decision takers.

The Forward Plan also contains details of other non “Key Decisions” that are to be considered by the Cabinet or in the month concerned by individual Cabinet Members.

A copy of the current ‘Forward Plan’ can be inspected, free of charge, at the Swindon Direct Reception at the Council’s Civic Offices, Euclid Street, Swindon, SN1 2JH, during normal office hours or by visiting the Council’s Website www.swindon.gov.uk or at Swindon Library.

The Forward Plan will be published for consideration at the following meetings of the Council’s Cabinet:

11th July 2012
5th September 2012
17th October 2012
12th December 2012
6th February 2013
20th March 2013
