'Draft Neighbourhood Planning Protocol' - Swindon Borough Council

Swindon Borough Council has published a 'Draft Neighbourhood Planning Protocol' for an eight-week period of consultation until 6.00pm on the 6th December 2012.

Swindon Borough Council recognises the value of neighbourhood planning in identifying and articulating local community needs and priorities, improving service delivery and informing policy and strategy within Swindon. The purpose of the Protocol is to provide clear, concise guidance on how the Council will work with Neighbourhood Planning bodies undertaking Neighbourhood Planning.

Copies of the protocol are available for public inspection at Swindon Borough Council Customer Services at Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon free of charge (Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm). The protocol can also be viewed at all libraries within Swindon Borough, during normal opening hours of those libraries, and can also be viewed on the Borough's website, where a representation form can also be downloaded, at: http://wwwswindon.gov.uk/neighbourhoodplanning

Representations should be sent in writing to Planning Services, Freepost SCE5251, Swindon Borough Council, Wat Tyler House West, Beckhampton Street, Swindon SN1 2JH to arrive no later than 6.00pm on 6th December 2012.

Following the consultation, the Council will adopt the Neighbourhood Planning Protocol for use in producing Neighbourhood Plans within the Borough.
