THE SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL (BUS LANES, BUS GATES AND BUS ONLY ROADS) ORDER 2013

Notice is Hereby Given that on the 25 June 2014 Swindon Borough Council under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, The Traffic Management Act 2004 and The Transport Act 2000 and all other enabling powers and in consultation with the Chief Officer of the Police made the above Order.

The effect of the Order is the introduction of Civil Enforcement with the use of camera devices on the reserved bus lanes, bus gates and bus only roads listed below:

Fleming Way, Princes Street, Holbrook Way, Faringdon Road, Wootton Bassett Road, Queens Drive, Cricklade Road, Penhill Drive, County Road, Regent Circus, Tewkesbury Way, Penzance Drive, Cirencester Way, Emlyn Square, Highworth Road, Church Place (East and West Section), Bristol Street, Torun Way, Mazurek Way, Ermin Street, Ferndale Road, Upham Road, Polaris Way, Un-named Link Road from Chelmsford Road to Eastleaze Road, New College Bus Link Road, Asda Walmart Link Road, Un-named link road from Liden Drive to Marlborough Road, Marlborough Road, Marlborough Road (Hospital Access Road), Wroughton Park and Ride Bus Access lane, Eastern Link joining Penzance Drive and Wootton Bassett Road, Un-named Link Road between Penzance Drive and Rodbourne Road, Link Road from Great Western Way and Link Road from junction with Mannington Lane to Tewkesbury Way.

It shall be a contravention to the above Order for a vehicle not permitted to use the bus lane, bus gate and bus only road to be in the bus lane, bus gate and bus only roads listed above.

Any contraventions under the provisions of the above Order shall be served with a penalty charge notice (PCN) as set out in The Bus Lane Contraventions (Penalty Charges, Adjudication and Enforcement) (England) Regulation
2005.

The Order will be operative as of 30 June 2014 and a copy of the sealed Order and plan may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Euclid Street, Swindon during opening hours.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 25 June 2014 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
