Swindon Borough Council (Various Roads, Swindon) Olympic Torch Relay

Temporary Waiting and Loading Restrictions Order 2012

Notice is hereby given that Swindon Borough Council under the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to impose no waiting and no loading at any time restrictions on both sides of the lengths of roads on the 23 May 2012 from 09.00 to 16.00 hours inclusive as follows:

Road Name: New Road, Chiseldon Extent of Restriction: From its junction with Station Road to its junction with Hodson Road

Road Name: Hodson Road, Chiseldon Extent of Restriction: From its junction with New Road to the access road to Pinkcombe House

Road Name:Marlborough Road, Wroughton Extent of Restriction: From Green Lane to Devizes Road

Road Name:Devizes Road and High Street, Wroughton Extent of Restriction: From its junction with Moormead Road to its junction Wharf Road

Road Name:Wharf Road, Wroughton Extent of Restriction:From its junction with High Street to just past its junction with Maunsell Way

Road Name: Kingshill Road Extent of Restriction: From its junction with Sunnyside Avenue to its junction with Bath Road

Road Name:Bath Road Extent of Restriction: For its entire length

Road Name:Victoria Road Extent of Restriction: For its entire length

Road Name:Crombey Street Extent of Restriction: From its junction with Eastcott Hill to its junction with Curtis Street

Road Name:Curtis Street Extent of Restriction: From its junction with Crombey Street to its junction with Commercial Road

Road Name:Commercial Road Extent of Restriction: For its entire length

Road Name:Groundwell Road Extent of Restriction: From its junction with Leicester Street to its junction with Drove Road

Road Name:Gipsy Lane Extent of Restriction: From the junction with Cirencester Way to junction with Elgin Drive

The ‘limited waiting’ and ‘residents parking’ on Groundwell Road, ‘resident parking bays’ on Crombey Street and ‘loading only bay’ on Commercial Road shall be temporarily suspended for the duration of this Order.

All existing ‘no waiting at any time’ and ‘no loading at any time’ on any length of road mentioned above will remain in force.

All restrictions will be indicated by signs and traffic cones.

Any contravention to the above restrictions will be issued with a PCN in accordance with the Traffic management Act 2004, s.78, Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (England) General Regulations 2007 and Civil Enforcement of Parking contraventions (England) Representations and Appeals Regulations 2007.

The Order is required on the grounds of public safety and to prevent obstruction for the Olympic Torch Relay on the 23 May 2012.
