Swindon Borough Council - Bristol Street, Prohibition of Motor Vehicles

The Swindon Borough Council (Bristol Street) (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Order 2012

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 14 March 2012 Swindon Borough Council made an Order under relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of motor vehicles with exception of public service vehicles and bicycles which are permitted to travel in a north westerly direction from Bristol Street to London Street. Bristol Street From its junction with Emlyn Square (west) to its junction with Emlyn Square (east).

The normal exemptions to emergency vehicles and vehicles being used for statutory duties apply.

The Order is a continuation of the Swindon Borough Council (Bristol Street) (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Experimental Order 2010 which was in force from 1 December 2010 to 1 June 2012.

The Order will be operative as of 1 June 2012 and a copy of the sealed Order and plan may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Euclid Street, Swindon during opening hours and online on www.swindon.gov.uk/highwayregulation

If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 30 May 2012 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
