After Remembrance Day services were cancelled last year, memorial events will resume across Wiltshire this year.
Services are being planned across the county on Sunday, November 14 to commemorate the contribution of the Armed Forces and their families from Britain and the Commonwealth.
The day commemorates and remembers those who fought in the first and second World Wars as well as later conflicts and people across the country traditionally wear a poppy.
The Queen usually leads services on Remembrance weekend at the Cenotaph in London, but this year has been advised to take on only desk-based duties for the next two weeks.
In a statement given last Friday, the palace said: “Her Majesty regrets that this means she will be unable to attend the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday November 13.
“However, it remains The Queen’s firm intention to be present for the National Service of Remembrance on Remembrance Sunday, on November 14.”

Remembrance Day events in Wiltshire
Chippenham
Where: St Andrews' Parish Church, Market Place, Chippenham SN15 3HT
When: Before 11am at the War Memorial
There will be a Church Service held at St. Andrew’s Church and a two-minute silence held at the War Memorial, according to Chippenham Town Council.
Devizes
Where: Corn Exchange, The Market Place, Devizes, SN10 1HS
When: The parade will begin at 9 am at the Corn Exchange.
There will also be an invite-only Remembrance service held there at 10 am.
From 11 am, you are invited to gather at the War Memorial for the two-minute silence and wreath-laying.
Attendees were asked to wear masks during the proceedings.
Swindon
Where: The Cenotaph, Regent Circus, Swindon, SN1 1PN
When: 10.50am on Sunday, November 14 2021
The Mayor of Swindon, Councillor Garry Perkins alongside the Royal British Legion are hosting this year's Remembrance Sunday Service.
The procession will begin at 10.50am with a two-minute silence at 11.00 am.
This will be followed by the Wreath laying, Remembrance Service and Veterans & Cadets march past.
Royal Wootton Bassett
Where: War Memorial on the High Street
When: 2.30pm on Sunday, November 14 2021
Due to the uncertainty at present regarding Covid, the decision was taken that there will be no parade and no church service this year.
A road closure from 2-5pm will allow everyone to form on the High Street up to the War Memorial where an open air ceremony and wreath laying will take place.
The Town Council and the Royal British Legion recommend wearing a facemask and please maintain social distancing where possible. Please stay home if asymptomatic or have been advised to self-isolate.
Salisbury
Where: The Guildhall, Market Place, Salisbury SP1 1JH
When: 11 am on Sunday, November 14 2021
Salisbury City Council will support the Remembrance Sunday event that will be led by the Salisbury Branch of the Royal British Legion.
Prayers will follow the two-minute silence at the War Memorial at 11 am.
Trowbridge
Where: St. James' Church, Church St, Trowbridge BA14 8RU
When: 09.45am to 11.30am on Sunday, November 14 2021
The town's annual Remembrance Service will be held at St. James' Church along with the traditional Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Town War Memorial.
It is being organised by Trowbridge Town Council and The Royal British Legion.
Organisers have said that the event will still go ahead despite "the threat of Covid-19 still very much a part of our daily lives."
They added: "The service will still go ahead, we have put extra safety measures in place to ensure that we can keep everyone as safe as possible
"We are still encouraging people to wear a face-covering (unless they are exempt) and continuing to urge people to practise social distancing.
However, the parade has been cancelled again this year and that due to limited space in the church, the public should not attend the service unless they have received a confirmation of their seat booking.
The service will also be live-streamed via their website.
