The summer exhibition of the Guild of Wiltshire Artists has a mix of media and subjects on show.

Sonia Leggett is one of the artists displaying her work at the exhibition, including her illustration of a boat on a beach, which is called Worse For Wear.

The show runs from Monday, May 26 to Saturday, May 31 at St Peter’s Church, High Street, Marlborough, from 10am to 5pm daily.

Sonia said: “In addition to framed paintings, there will be a display of postcard-size sketches and artworks.

“These small originals, which proved very popular at our exhibition last year, have been donated by Guild members to raise funds for additional exhibition screens and will be available for just £5 each.’’ Another artist contributing to the show is Pat Kitching with her delicate painting of a bluetit sitting on a flower, entitled Blue on Blue.

The Guild was set up in 1985 by three professional artists, John Soar, James Trew and Frederick Cameron-Street.The idea was to help each other gain a higher standard of artistry by sharing their expertise.

Membership is by a selection process and is limited to 40 places to keep up the high standards set by the original founders.

The Guild meets monthly and from Monday, May 19 their new home is the Hook Village Hall starting at 7.30pm for demonstrations, talks and exchange of ideas.
