Week 14 Weight: 12st 7lbs Total weight loss: 2st 10lbs
I STILL can’t quite believe that after the toughest 12 weeks in my life it’s now all over. I took the plunge for Prospect.
I am not entirely sure when excitement became fear, but what I do know is that the whole experience coursed so much adrenaline through my veins I spent the rest of the day on a perpetual cloud nine. Tumbling out of the window of a small plane also tends to remind you that you really need to make the most of every single moment in your life. As soon as you stop screaming and actually start to enjoy the ride, it’s over and the parachute is up and you’re dangling in mid air gliding quietly over your beautiful country and wondering why humans don’t have wings. It was the best reward for the work I’ve put in.
Being three stone lighter definitely made the experience more enjoyable. For one thing, I would probably have fallen a lot faster! There was also a moment where I had to sit on my instructor’s lap so he could strap me in and make sure I didn’t go flying off into the ether on my own, so I was quite pleased I didn’t squash him because that might have been a little awkward.
But interestingly, what I’ve gained far outweighs what I’ve lost. I am fitter, stronger, more confident and happier than I was three months ago.
And for that it’s really personal trainer Ronny Terry who should be getting the reward. He’s successfully remodelled me into this new, more interesting version of myself who believes that anything really is possible.
I’m now powering towards new goals I’d never thought were possible.
And that’s a little bit magical.
