Swindon playwright Matt Fox is passing on his skills, this autumn, to aspiring script writers.
The part-time play writing course begins on Monday, September 22 at New College, off Queens Drive.
Matt will be taking the course to offer new writers the chance to learn how to become a successful playwright. The course gives an insight into the writing process and the chance to write your own play under the guiding hand of an award-winning writer.
Matt studied for a degree in English at the University of London, and then an MA in Professional Writing at University College Falmouth, specialising in script writing.
He came to Swindon 2006, produced a number of plays in the town and became trustee for the JTP Trust. Following a successful bid to the Big Lottery for funding he wrote Swindon: The Opera with composer Betty Roe MBE. The new opera was then produced in conjunction with the JTP Trust.
Matt’s latest play The Sleep has recently toured all over the UK.
The work produced on the course will be performed by local actors, at a showcase in the Phoenix Theatre at New College, on Saturday, November 29.
