SIMPKINS Elsie Vera 1920 - 2022 Vera Simpkins known for many years as Miss Smith, passed away peacefully at home in Derbyshire on Sunday 6th February aged 101. She lived for many years in Cricklade Road, Swindon and she will be sadly missed by nieces Margaret and Julie and great-niece Beatrice, nephew John and great-nephew Robert. Vera was very well known in Swindon where she worked in the civil service in Swindon as a Careers Advisor and taught Typing and Office Skills in the evenings at Swindon college. She married Ron Simpkins at the time of retirement in 1981 and worked as a volunteer in the eye department of the Princess Margaret hospital until it closed.
