WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Swindon.
The incident took place at approximately 2.30am yesterday in Chalford Avenue.
A young male was walking through Chalford Avenue with a group of friends when he was approached by a lone male.
The male then demanded he hand over his mobile phone before assaulting the victim.
The suspect was then chased off by the group of friends.
Although a knife was mentioned by the suspect during the incident, no knife was actually seen by any of the group.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 30 and 40 years old, with a bald head, wearing a tracksuit and a sleeveless body warmer.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information on the suspect, is asked to contact Detective Constable Ian Crouch on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
