MEMBERS of a local angling club will no longer have to tell tales of the one that got away.

This is because 400lbs of fish were introduced into Wroughton Reservoir last month, which are now ready for catching by members of Wroughton Angling Club.

The bream, donated by Thames Water, were removed from Queen Mary reservoir in west London earlier this year because they were harming its ecosystem.

They will take up residence in the resevoir alongside the chub and roach that were also introduced earlier this year.

Before the bream could be put into the reservoir, they were treated to have some harmless parasites removed so as not to pass them on to other fish.

Keith Whitefoot of Wroughton Angling Club, said: “We’re very grateful to Thames Water for kindly donating the bream and hope that the restocking of Wroughton Reservoir will keep everyone happy and enable us to begin some coaching sessions for our younger members.”
