FATHER and daughter duo, Clarry Bean and Abby Mansi are launching their new professional vocal duo act in a fund-raising concert for Vasculitis UK at the Swindon Arts Centre. Clarry is well known on the Swindon music and art scene and was a former rock singer, amateur actor and musical theatre singer, and a male soloist with The Kentwood Show Choir for 23 years.

Clarry’s professional career has seen him manage the Swindon Arts Centre, where he is now part-time programming manager, so no stranger to standing on the stage, but usually without an audience.

Clarry and wife Christine, son Danny and daughter Abby have twice performed sellout shows at the Arts Centre and recorded a charity CD in 2007.

Abby was a member of The Kentwood Show Choir before leaving Swindon to study Musical Theatre and Drama Performance at the former Cumbria Institute of the Arts, where she gained a first class honours degree.

Abby then landed the position of lead female singer at a five star holiday resort, which involved learning 16 shows and greatly stretched her vocal abilities, with a varied and challenging repertoire to master. She has recently taken over the role of musical director for The Swindon Big Sing Thing, a local community choir comprising over a hundred members.

The show will feature a range of musical styles, including musical theatre, classical, and pop songs spanning the last six decades, and will showcase Clarry and Abby’s vocal styles. There will also be a raffle.

Vasculitis UK is a registered charity whose aims are to help educate people with vasculitis, a blood vessel disorder, about their illness.

Clarry’s wife was diagnosed with one of the forms of vasculitis in 2009, and the family has had to learn to cope with the effects the illness has had.
