SWINDON: Pensioner William Chamberlain, who is accused of sexually abusing a young girl in the 1970s has been released on bail by a judge. He faces a number of allegations of indecent assault and gross indecency with a child, starting in 1971.
No charges were formally put to the 65-year-old and he did not enter any pleas at Swindon Crown Court. The case was adjourned to March 14.
