TIME is running out for men and women in the South West to sign up to Dryathlon. Registrations for Cancer Research UK’s New Year fundraising challenge close on January 12.
A recent Dryathlon survey found that almost two out of three people in the South West have said they were going to make a New Year’s resolution for 2014.
So the charity is urging anyone who hasn’t yet made a New Year’s pledge, or has already found their good intentions slipping away, to sign up to Dryathlon before registrations close. Dryathletes pledge to drop the drink for a month and either get sponsored or donate the money they would have spent on alcohol to the charity. They can register as individuals or set up a team and get friends, family and colleagues involved.
Helen Johnstone, Cancer Research UK spokesperson for the South West, said: “It’s fantastic that so many people want to get 2014 off to a flying start by making a New Year’s resolution.
“There is still time to jump aboard the sober express and sign up for this fundraising challenge.
“Raising money for the fight against cancer is fantastic motivation to stay on track.”
