A TEENAGER who admitted robbery and possessing a knife in a play park will still face trial accused of a second mugging.

The 17-year-old stole a push scooter and mobile phone during the incident he admitted being involved in on Saturday August 24.

On the same day he admitted he had the knife at the Angus Close play park in Ramleaze.

But the thug, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied being involved in the second matter.

He also denied witness intimidation in relation to the alleged victim, though he did admit assaulting the boy.

The teenager pleaded guilty to robbery, having a bladed article and common assault. He pleaded not guilty to robbery and witness intimidation.

Hannah Squire, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court there would need to be a trial on the two counts he had denied.

She said a second defendant had already been sentenced for the two robberies after admitting the matter in the youth court.

Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Monday March 3 and released the boy on conditional bail until then.
