DEVOTED fans queued for hours in wind and driving rain to see former Jackson Five member Tito make a surprise visit to Swindon.

Michael Jackson's older brother delighted young martial arts students when he appeared at the Matt Fiddes Martial Arts School in Station Road yesterday.

The singer, who is a personal friend of the Swindon-born martial arts guru, spoke to a group of students and watched a demonstration.

He said: "It's a pleasure for me to come to Swindon to see the boys and the girls and their parents.

"Matt is a very dear friend to me and my brother Michael.

"Last night I gave a speech to some boys and girls about discipline, staying in school and basically being obedient."

Swindon College student Sarah Papworth braved the cold weather for three hours to meet her hero.

The 19-year-old from Haydon Wick presented Tito with gifts before his visit and was ecstatic to get a hug afterwards.

She said: "I can't speak, I'm in shock.

"He was so nice, he gave me a hug and told me about his album plans."

Speaking to the Advertiser afterwards, Tito said: "I have loved it here today.

"It's great to see that these children at such a young age are so enthusiastic."

He also tipped brother Jermaine to succeed in Celebrity Big Brother.

He said: "He's pretty solid, I don't expect him to be too freaked out by being in the house."
