ONE of the occupants of the Range Rover which crashed on Coate Water roundabout in the early hours of Sunday while being followed by police is thought to be Harry Livingstone, who survived a fatal accident on the A419 in May last year.

Harry, 21, had been a back seat passenger in the accident which claimed the lives of friends Shaya Leigh and Kerrylee O’Leary-Staniford.

Jake Gibbons and Jordan Gilliver also survived the crash.

An inquest into the A419 crash in December last year heard Harry had been a passenger in the middle back seat of the silver Clio being driven by Shaya, who was 18 at the time.

Some of the passengers in the Clio had not been wearing their seatbelts correctly at the time, and a narrative verdict was recorded after the coroner was unable to determine the exact cause of the crash.

At 12.40am on Sunday, a white Range Rover with four male occupants was being pursued by a marked police car.

During the chase the Range Rover collided with traffic lights on the roundabout next to Coate Water and came to a stop.

All the occupants were arrested at the scene and were transferred to Great Western Hospital to be checked for injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The 21-year-old driver fractured his neck in the collision.

All the occupants of the Range Rover have been spoken to by police in relation to the incident, but no charges have yet been brought against any of them.

It has not been confirmed whether Harry was the driver of the vehicle, and his family have said he is shaken up but all right.

The incident has now been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, as is common practice for any incident involving injury after contact has been made with police.

The IPCC have not yet made a decision on whether to launch a full investigation.

An IPCCspokesman said: “The IPCC has received a referral from Wiltshire Police.

“We are continuing to carry out an assessment to determine the level, if any, of IPCC involvement.”
