RESIDENTS are celebrating after Eastern Avenue, in Walcot, was resurfaced after many complaints.
For several years residents have complained to local councillors that the potholes on the road caused damage to their cars and pushchairs, but now the road has been resurfaced.
Coun Abdul Amin (Lab, Walcot and Park North) said: “Residents started complaining about the road about two years ago. It was in a very bad way.
“It caused damage to their cars and to pushchairs and it wasn’t good for the area either.
“We have been campaigning since then to have the road resurfaced and the work was finally done about two weeks ago.
“The road is very much improved and residents have really noticed.
They have been vappreciative of the work.
“We’ll now be working on getting other roads resurfaced.”
