REVELLERS will rock around the clock at a 1950s-themes night of music and dancing next month for Prospect Hospice.
After a string of fundraisers including a motown evening and 70s disco, Steve and Natalie Hearn, mainstays of the charity’s Swindon Town Centre Support Group, will take guests back to the Rock’n’Roll era complete with an Elvis Presley tribute act at Swindon Town Football Club on Friday, September 19.
The festivities will be staged in memory of Tracey Toop, Natalie’s cousin, who was cared for a by the hospice before passing away in May.
“I think it will be a great evening,” said Natalie. “Fifties Rock’n’Roll is still incredibly popular and we hope the event will see a lot of people coming along dressed as they would have been back when rock and roll took over the world.”
She added: “We are doing this for Prospect again as we are hoping to meet our £10,000 target for our first year of fundraising as so far the total is £7,500 over three tribute nights.
“I have chosen to do this in memory of Tracey Toop as she was my cousin, and thought this would be nice for her. We are hoping to raise £2,500 on this night so we can meet our £10,000 target too go towards more care for the hospice.”
The event is from 7pm until 1am at Swindon Town Legends’ Lounge. Tickets cost £12 from Steve and Natalie on 07796 137770.
