THREE employees from McDonald’s in Swindon have completed a 52-mile bike ride to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charity.
The cyclists set about raising money for the cause via a one-day event, which saw them cycle between nine McDonald’s restaurants in the area, starting in Stroud and ending up in Swindon via Cirencester and Watchfield.
Jon Carpenter, Operations Consultant for McDonald’s restaurants in the area took part in the bike ride.
He said: “I first became aware of Ronald McDonald House Charity in 1995 when I visited the house in London.
“It left a huge impression on me and I vowed then to do as much as I could to support them.
“When we started fundraising for the bike ride, I was genuinely touched by how many of our staff were keen to donate to the charity.
“I would like to thank everyone for their generous donations and support. We are thrilled with the amount of money we have raised and are delighted that it’s going to such a fantastic cause, that we all do our best to support.”
Local McDonald’s franchisee, Paul Booth said: “I’m proud of the staff members who took part in the charity bike ride.
“It’s great to see everyone working together as a team to raise money for the local Ronald McDonald House Charity; a charity that does fantastic work to support families in the local community.”
