SWINDON students at Cirencester Sixth Form College had cause for celebration yesterday with another year of excellent results.
The overall pass rate of 99.5 per cent, means this is the 10th year that students have achieved over 99 per cent, reflecting once again the hard work and dedication of students and our staff.
Fifty-four per cent of students achieved grades A* to B and 38 subjects had a 100 per cent pass rate Principal Kim Clifford said: “Once again, a fantastic set of results, I am really proud of our students.
“I would also like to thank the staff for their excellent support and teaching. These results will give our students a major advantage in the next exciting phase of their lives and we wish them every success in the future.”
Professional vocational courses have also had major successes with over 100 students gaining triple distinctions and above and 43 of those students gaining triple distinction stars, which is the equivalent to gaining three A*s at A-level.
Kim said: “Thanks to these results, which include over 130 A* grades at A-level, our students are now going on to highly competitive courses at top universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and Bristol and many more Russell Group universities. Other students have also gained immediate entry into employment, and many others are joining our extensive professional apprenticeship programmes.”
Two Swindon students who excelled at Cirencester include Thomas Titcombe from Haydon Wick and formerly of Nova Hreod and ex-Isambard student Matthew Gilbert, who both gained four A* grades.
