CULT Screens is showing three films at the Old Town Bowl this week as part of their summer programme.

On Thursday, the David Bowie film Labyrinth will be playing, followed by Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel on the Friday, with the weekend’s flicks coming to a close on Saturday with 1980s favourite The Goonies.

The events will open at 7.30pm with the films begininning at 8.45pm. There will be music before the films start and if the weather gets cold there are blankets available so viewing isn’t hampered.

Phil Cottle, Cult Screens’ head of ideas, said: “All three are great films which will appeal to all tastes. The Grand Budapest Hotel was released earlier this year and proved very popular when we showed it in Reading recently, while the other two are always good fun.”

Each showing can welcome an audience of up to 300 people, with film fans being able to watch the features from the comfort of deckchairs and bean bags.

So far the company has put on six films in Swindon with its programme finishing next month. Back to the Future will be playing on September 11, Breakfast at Tiffany’s will be showing on September 12 and The Big Lebowski is scheduled for September 13.
