ABOUT 100 homes are currently without electricity on Eastcott Hill and the situation is expected to last for much of the day.
Power went shortly after 8am this morning and after several hours engineers have located the source of the problem to a faulty underground cable.
They are currently digging up the road to fix the issue and are not expected to be finished until around 5.30pm.
In the meantime a Welfare Van has been put on the corner of Eastcott Hill and Brunswick Street for residents to get a hot meal and charge their phone.
Southern Electric have apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked people for their patience.
