SINEAD O’CONNOR I’m Not Bossy,
I’m The Boss Sinead O’Connor enjoyed quite a career renaissance with her outstanding 2012 album, How About I Be Me (And You Be You)? and this follow-up is every bit as good, if not better. One of the greatest female vocalists of the past 25 years, the 47-year-old singer’s glorious pipes are as affecting as ever on these 12 tracks, produced by John Reynolds. With songs as good as How About I Be Me, Kisses Like Mine, and James Brown, recorded with Afrobeat superstar Seun Kuti, she is back in business with a bang – and for that, all music lovers should be truly grateful. This is arguably her finest album to date, and a real show of female empowerment.
9/10 – Kim Mayo
