THE most successful European Ryder Cup captain of all time will be sharing his fondest memories with an audience at the Wyvern Theatre on September 11.
An evening with Tony Jacklin will see the golfer talking about his career, including winning The Open Championship in 1969 and the U.S Open in 1970.
The evening will be hosted by snooker legend, golfing nut and great friend of Tony Jacklin – Willie Thorne and will also include a Q & A session, a golf swing master-class and a meet and greet.
“I’m really looking forward to sharing a few stories and telling people about what it felt like at the time,” he said.
“I still remember a lot of the thought processes that went into winning some of the majors and Ryder Cups.
“I think to some degree I have got stories I can share that might be inspiring to some of the people there.
“I came from a working class background and I dreamed big. That’s important. I hope the show will be an inspiration to people who are able to come along and listen.”
The show will include film clips and demonstrations.
Tony said he will also speak about his time on Strictly Come Dancing.
“I’m sure a lot of the audience will want to know what goes on behind the scenes and how we all got on. Willie was on Strictly as well so I’m sure he will be speaking about it too,” he said.
- Tony Jacklin will be at the Wyvern Theatre at 7.30pm on September 11. For tickets phone 01793 524481 or visit www.swindontheatres.co.uk.
