CYCLISTS are being urged to put the pedal to the metal in a bid to raise cash for charity.
The annual Wiltshire 100 and Big Wheel charity ride takes place on Sunday, with participants being offered a choice of three distances to cycle; 100 miles, 45 miles or a family-friendly 12 miles.
Around 600 cyclists are expected to take part in the event, which starts and finishes at The Small Green, Devizes, with the shorter family route following a 12-mile circuit via All Cannings. The 45-mile medium route heads out to Marlborough and back via Burbage and Pewsey.
And the 100-mile route takes in Warminster, Salisbury, Amesbury and Marlborough before returning to Devizes. Participants can enter in advance online, with discounts for teams of six or more.
- It will also be possible to come along and enter on the day of the ride. Start times run between 7am and 10.30am. For further information and to register online visit www.bike-events.com/wiltshire100 and bike-events.com/wiltshirebigwheel
