PARTY-GOERS raised more than £2,000 for a pioneering breast cancer treatment after hosting a Route 66 Reunion at Lava Lounge.
The evening raised more than £4,000 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Great Western Hospital’s Brighter Future’s charity, which is raising money for £75,000 worth of breast cancer radiotherapy treatment.
The reunion, which saw dozens of punters of the former Route 66 Club, was organised by Emma Sedgwick-Cotton and there are thoughts to make it an annual event.
Posting on Facebook after the event, Emma said: “Wow what an amazing night! My feet are still burning from the hours of dancing!
“I am so grateful that it all came together and what I feel was a very successful night! Not only did we raise a lot of money for charity but we made even more great memories with some very special friends.”
More than 400 tickets sold for the event, which featured music from original DJs from the club.
Lesley Bayliss, event and community fundraiser at the GWH, said: “It was a really good night and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves. The organisers, particularly Emma, worked very hard and did a really good job to bring it all together.”
