ORCHID Vale Primary School has key values at the heart of its work in supporting children.
These principles include thoughtfulness, respect, trust, love, friendship and courage.
When the school, in Torun Way, was last inspected by Ofsted in July 2011 they rated its overall effectiveness as being outstanding.
Headteacher, Debbie Kalynka, said the size of the school meant pupils got the attention they deserved and enabled a thriving community spirit among pupils.
“Orchid Vale Primary School is an expanding school, but still small enough for everyone to know each other and enjoy working together,” she said.
“The school aims to provide the best possible education for all the children in our care – this is only possible through wholehearted support, which is what we strive to give.”
Orchid Vale Primary School has an open door policy with parents welcome to talk to staff about any issues their child might be encountering.
They also have regular after school meetings with parents to discuss the curriculum and teaching styles.
The school’s mission statement focuses on pupils aiming high and focusing on lifelong learning.
Orchid Vale Primary School’s principles include encouraging praise and rewards, sharing success and giving respect to people from all walks of life.
