PUPILS at Mountford Manor Primary School can expect to flourish in a diverse learning community where each individual is challenged to reach their full potential.
The Walcot school, which is part of the White Horse Federation of schools, works to enable children to to become the best versions of themselves in a welcoming environment which teaches them lifelong skills beyond the classroom.
Rachel Skates, headteacher at Mountford Manor, said: “At Mountford Manor our vision is to provide a caring and vibrant community where each individual is challenged and inspired to reach his or her full potential and develop a zest for lifelong learning.
“We are extremely fortunate in that we are situated on a large site which consists of a sizeable playing field, playgrounds and even its own forest.
“Being part of the White Horse Federation has huge advantages for us as a small school.
"We are able to use the support and experience from our counterparts in our other federated schools to ensure that best practice is taking place, borrow extra minibuses so we are able to take more children on trips and hold festivals which bring our children in our federated schools across Swindon to work together.
“At Mountford Manor Primary School, We value the diverse ethnic backgrounds of all pupils and families and undertake a variety of events and lessons to celebrate these.
"We have found this approach to be enriching for all parties as it teaches tolerance and respect for the differences in our community and the wider world.”
In the school’s last Ofsted report, which was published last October after inspectors visited in September, Mountford Manor was rated "good".
This follows numerous improvements after the education watchdog told the school they required improvement after an inspection in 2012.
In the latest report inspectors particularly praised leadership and teaching as well as cultural development.
