Flightlink Executive Travel is cruising in top gear during its 21st year as the company celebrates a number of new contract wins and the successful completion of their first 21st anniversary challenge.
Flightlink launched in 1994 and has been led by the current management team under the guidance of managing director Mike McCartney since 2008.
Despite the recent tough economic climate, the company has grown by 30 per cent over the last two years – with three significant contract wins in the last two months alone – and continues to work hard to secure its position of the top executive travel and chauffeur company across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.
The company has a fleet of more than 40 prestigious cars, the majority being Mercedes E Class and no older than three years old. All vehicles are fitted with state-of-the-art GPS tracking and passenger security systems.
The latest additions to the fleet are a Jaguar XJ and a Mercedes S Class, with a celebratory number plate of S21 FLX in recognition of Flightlink’s 21 years at the top of their game. This VIP vehicle will provide the area’s most important business people with comfortable and spacious travel to a high specification.
Ambitious in all they do, Flightlink has also committed to 21 initiatives to be completed across 2015, including international and endurance challenges to raise money for charity, and continued investment in their VIP fleet.
The first initiative has recently been completed by managing director Mike’s son, Michael McCartney Junior, and two of his friends Thomas Howison-Hill and Matthew Rea.
The trio have raised more than £1,000 for charities, including Wiltshire Air Ambulance, by undertaking the Rickshaw Run – a journey of approximately 3,500km across the north of India from Jaisalmer to Shillong in a three-wheeled, seven horse-power rickshaw, with a maximum speed of 50mph.
The journey took the team two weeks to complete in temperatures reaching 40°C.
Another initiative is the launch of Shades of Grey Wedding Cars.
Named in recognition of the silver fleet, as well as a nod to the year’s biggest romantic film, the company’s vehicles can be hired for weddings and other special events. MD Mike McCartney said: “Over the last few years the executive travel market has presented many challenges and Swindon can be a tough town in which to operate. “Since the beginning of 2015 we’ve already secured three major new contracts in the Swindon area, who were all attracted by our track record of reliability, excellent vehicles and overall standard of our drivers and fleet.
“Our 21st year is already proving to be a highlight of the Flightlink history, with significant growth expected to continue across the three counties in which we operate.”
