POPULAR pub Brookhouse Farm is celebrating after the kitchen’s gastronomic delights won them a special award by Greene King.
The West Swindon haunt in Middleleaze Drive, which is operated by restaurant chain Hungry Horse, won the internal Kitchen of Excellence award in recognition of their outstanding food quality, food safety and organisation.
Their success has been welcomed by pub manager Charlie Chesterman, who said the award was a testament to the team’s efforts.
He said: “The award demonstrates how hard our team works every day behind the scenes to ensure we produce food to the highest quality and maintain excellent standards in the kitchen.”
Brookhouse Farm was nominated for the award after hitting a number of high targets including a five star food hygiene rating, recording 100 per cent health and safety and food safety during a kitchen inspection, and consistently high mystery guest results.
Following the nomination the kitchen was audited by a Greene King regional chef who examined hygiene, cleanliness, health and safety, presentation and the overall running of the kitchen.
Their demonstration of exceptionally high standards in all areas was the clincher to the Brookhouse Farm receiving the Kitchen of Excellence award.
Marc McGuigan, business unit director for Hungry Horse, said: “To obtain the Kitchen of Excellence award the team at the Brookhouse Farm have had to consistently demonstrate an exceptional level of performance. Customers at the pub should feel assured that when they are eating out their food is being prepared to the highest standards.”
The award comes after Hungry Horse launched a new menu, which offers even greater value across its wide choice of food and drink. On Mondays, kids eat for £1 and there are five big plate specials being offered for just £5 each every Tuesday.
Other popular offers include curry and a pint for £5 on Wednesday, a free starter or dessert on a Thursday and two roasts for £10 on a Sunday.
