A LOCAL artist has donated her first canvas in four decades to help support Swindon Needy Dogs in an auction over the course of this month.
The canvas, called Leap of Faith, by Ingrid Rylance, is currently on display at Eastcott Vets and will be available for auction on the Swindon Needy Dogs Facebook page as of May 1.
Ingrid said: “Leap of Faith is the first canvas that I have produced after a 40 year break from my art work and this is my leap of faith to help Swindon’s Needy Dogs.
“I hope the new owner of this canvas will enjoy both the image and energy involved in making this piece come into being.
“Please bid generously to help and support Swindon Needy Dogs and enjoy the new art work which could be yours.”
Lisa Newman, of Swindon Needy Dogs, said the team are always looking for help in providing care for the dogs they rescue.
“We have a lot of dogs in our care the moment and we are always looking for foster people, as well as people who would like to join our friendly team of fundraisers,” she said. “We have lots of summer events coming up, as well as our monthly jumble sales and sales in general.”
