WILTSHIRE Police can confirm that a 36-hour extension of custody for the three women arrested in connection with the death of a Swindon woman has been granted.
The three women, aged 19, 19 and 23, and all from Swindon, were arrested on Tuesday 12th May 2015 after police were called to Evelyn House in Parks at approximately 3.45pm, following a report of a serious assault in a communal area at the bottom of a stairway.
The victim, Alison Connolly, aged 49, of Penhill Drive, Swindon, suffered a serious stab wound. She was taken to the Great Western Hospital by ambulance but sadly died.
Detective Inspector Tim Corner, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, is urging any witnesses to the incident to call police on 101 immediately. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred.
