A CRASH involving a lorry and a cyclist closed the A419 for around three hours this morning.

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed on the carriageway after the crash, which occurred on the northbound side of the A419, near Cricklade.

A police spokesman said: "Wiltshire Police received a call at 9.06am this morning reporting a collision involving a lorry and a cyclist on the A419 Northbound near Cricklade - the junction after the Harvester.

"It is believed the cyclist has suffered a head injury."

The road re-opened at around noon.

The crash came as thousands make their way to the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), which opens to the public today.
