CHILDREN at Nythe enjoy all the benefits of a small student body while in the heart of the east Swindon community.
Offering places for up to 210 pupils, children enjoy a wide and varied curriculum which aims to nurture their creativity and imagination and stretch their academic boundaries.
Headteacher Sally Clarke said: “This is a lively and happy school which is valued and well supported by our community. We have high expectations of our children and we are very proud of their achievements.
“With a maximum of 210 children we benefit from the virtues of a small school able to focus on the needs of each individual child and family. What we offer children aged four to 11 is the opportunity to play and learn in a caring environment based on mutual respect and the nurturing of a positive self-image.
“We have high expectations and seek to develop in all our children a strong sense of responsibility for their behaviour, and a respect for others.
“We have a dedicated and professional staff supported by an active and talented Governing Body. Our energetic PTA, the Friends of Nythe School (FONS), ensures that we all enjoy a wide variety of fun events throughout the year. We provide a broad and balanced education enriched by a wide variety of trips and active, hands-on learning opportunities.
“Nythe Primary School is a small and inviting school with seven classes. It has a real ‘family feel’, where the staff are dedicated to providing a stimulating, exciting environment where everyone feels valued and safe, ideas can flourish and pupils can realise their full potential.”
In 2014, Nythe began to teach the Cornerstones Curriculum, a nationally recognised approach for delivering learning opportunities for children.
Mrs Clarke said: “We believe children learn better when they are encouraged to use their imagination and apply their learning to encourage contexts.
“We aim to enthuse in all children a love of learning as well as respect and care for each other.”
