CHIPPENHAM-based consultancy Purpol Marketing is celebrating again this week after owner Denise O’Leary was named as a finalist in the prestigious national Women in Construction Awards.
The awards, celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, provide a showcase for the brightest and the best female achievers in the construction & built environment industries.
Ms O'Leary founded Purpol Marketing in 2014 as an agency with a difference, specialising in the construction and manufacturing industries providing marketing strategy and bid management expertise.
Shortlisted female trailblazers in construction will seek to win awards in categories such as: Architect of the Year, Best Apprentice, Engineer of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Outstanding Woman in Construction, Green Leadership, Project Manager of the Year, Tradeswoman of the Year, Rising Star Award and Business Leader of the Year.
Purpol Marketing works with small and medium-sized enterprises as well as larger organisations to develop bid strategies for major construction projects.
It has helped clients win substantial contracts with organisations such as Bristol Airport and win places on frameworks such as the £850m South West Wales Regional Contractors Framework and the Wessex Water framework of approved contractors.
Ms O'Leary also led the first consortium of construction SMEs to a place on a regional framework not once but twice, and encourages companies to work together in a collaborative way to deliver contracts that they would not be able to undertake on their own.
For the coming year Ms O'Leary has a business plan which aims to change the landscape of bid tendering across many market sectors as well as construction.
She said: "I am thrilled to be recognised for this national accolade as a business leader within the construction sector.
"Purpol is able to deliver credible results for our clients on a pay as you go basis."
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Women in Construction Awards, the ceremony returns to The Palace Hotel, Manchester, this year. It has just undergone a multi-million-pound restoration by Michaelis Boyd.
Purpol’s next Practical Marketing Strategy Workshop takes place on March 3 in Chippenham and March 15 in Swindon.
