FAMILIES dodged rain showers to enjoy all the fun of the farm this weekend.
Traditional maypole dancing, cuddly bunnies, games of quoits and welly wanging were just some of the activities going on at Roves Farm, Sevenhampton.
More than 450 people went through the gates on Saturday.
“It has been a busy day despite the forecast,” said events manager Katie Allen. “People have been enjoying being outside when the sun has been shining.
“I think sometimes we’re the choice when the weather forecast says it’s going to be a bit wet because they know there is a lot to do inside.”
The children enjoyed learning maypole dances, feeding the goats and cuddling the baby rabbits in pets corner, but the welly wanging proved a big hit with the fathers.
“The dads very much enjoyed it. I think they get a bit competitive,” said Katie.
The farm hit the headlines recently when one of its ewes gave birth to quintuplets. It was the second year running that the farm had seen five lambs born in one go.
Next on the programme for the attraction is a family camp followed during the May half term with the tale of the Three Little Pigs when youngsters will be able to take a tractor ride around the farm in search of the three pigs’ houses.
It is followed on Father’s Day with a bug hunt.
