A MAN who admitted trying to mug someone in Old Town has been warned he is facing a jail term.
Conway Sims, 21, pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and possessing a bladed article when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court, as well as handling stolen goods.
Sims admitted trying to take money and a mobile phone from his victim in Bath Road on Saturday, October 22.
Sims, of Culvery Court, Harding Street, was also put on a suspended sentence for attempted robbery in Cardiff two days after the Old Town offence.
Rob Ross, defending, asked for the case to be adjourned so a psychiatric report could be compiled on his client.
Recorder Patrick Clarkson QC put the case off until Friday, March 24, releasing Sims on bail, saying he should not expect the sentence will be 'anything other than immediate custody'.
