RED Nose Day is back once again and everyone’s doing their bit and risking their dignity to raise money for Comic Relief.
Specsavers staff are selling wacky waving-hand glasses for £2 at their shop in Regent Street, with every penny going to charity.
And today they’ll be wearing their silliest red outfits to celebrate Red Nose Day and offering home-baked cakes in exchange for donations.
Anyone who buys a pair of the silly specs will be encouraged to join a social media Mexican wave by taking a selfie with the goofy glasses on and putting it online with the hashtag #GiveUsAWave.
This is just one of the many special fundraising events that have been organised to support Comic Relief.
Sainsbury’s is selling cakes at its town centre superstore all day today.
Nationwide’s IT Disaster Recovery team held a bake sale of cakes and samosas in their offices earlier in the week and raised £270.
Meadowpark School and Nursery, in Cricklade, held a talent show yesterday with pupils, all dressed in red showing off their talents, which ranged from Irish dancing to poetry and musical performances.
