A Swindon building society has lent its backing to a new project promoting mindfulness over mental health problems at work.
Nationwide Building Society has shown its support to the Swindon Mindful Employer Network by printing six new pop-up publicity banner stands for the initiative, which concentrates on mental health and wellbeing at work. Nationwide, through its Print Services in Hawksworth, has produced the network newsletter called Head4Business for over five years and helps with other publicity material.
David Latham, who leads the network at Swindon Mind, is grateful for this generous support: “Nationwide Building Society have always been so kind and enthusiastic towards the Swindon Mindful Employer Network and have demonstrated this by printing our publicity materials and hosting the occasional network event. They have played a significant role in the growth and ongoing success of this project.”
Amanda Rice, who is Head of Culture and Engagement, at Nationwide, comments: “We are passionate about supporting the local community, and believe that mental health and wellbeing is an important subject for all employers and society to talk about. Nationwide is keen to play its part in supporting the network, as well as helping to encourage other Swindon businesses to come along to the valuable and inspiring sessions which the charity hosts.”
The network is holding its 2017 conference at the Swindon Marriott on Monday 9th October which includes guest speakers Professor Sir Cary Cooper who is a leading organizational psychologist, sports legend and business coach Doctor David Hemery and international business leader and former vice-president of Unilever Geoff McDonald.
There are other contributions from Frances Mayes of Public Health at Swindon Borough Council, Doctor Donna Lovell of Swindon Mind and Mike Godfrey of Business West. Q&A sessions will be hosted by Cormac MacMahon who is News Editor Regions at Heart FM and the event is chaired by Melanie Richens of the UK College of Personal Development. The conference is also being generously supported by the Swindon Marriott, Emma Lord Photography and MBM Europe Ltd.
The Mayor of Swindon Cllr Maureen Penny is guest of honour.
This Swindon network is funded by Public Health at Swindon Borough Council.
Places for this event are available for representatives of employers in the Swindon and surrounding area only. The Swindon Mindful Employer Network has already announced that demand for places has been considerable and the network is expecting a full conference room on 9th October.
