The Swindon Mindful Employer Network is celebrating another successful conference which took place at the Swindon Marriott Hotel.
On Monday, October 9, delegates from local businesses filled the conference room and heard speakers such as Professor Sir Cary Cooper who is a leading organizational psychologist, sports legend and business coach Doctor David Hemery and international business leader and former vice-president of Unilever Geoff McDonald who appeared on BBC’s The One Show later that day.
There are were other contributions from Frances Mayes of Public Health at Swindon Borough Council, Doctor Donna Lovell of Swindon Mind and Mike Godfrey of Business West. Q&A sessions with guest speakers were hosted by Cormac MacMahon who is News Editor Regions at Heart FM and the event was chaired by Melanie Richens of the UK College of Personal Development. The Mayor of Swindon Cllr Maureen Penny was guest of honour.
Melanie Richens says of the conference: “Over 150 delegates from local industry and commerce benefitted from the wealth of experience available at the conference. Judging by the feedback from attendees and contributors this was a very worthwhile morning at the Swindon Marriott. We were so fortunate to have three outstanding speakers and experts in their fields and I hope that local employers use the knowledge gained from the event to improve the environment on mental health in their workplaces. Let’s be clear, mental wellbeing is now critically important to employers. The network is expecting to be very busy in the next few years.”
